Situated at the intersection of meditation, art, and architecture, this research-based practice questions and produces creative and spatial processes through a multidisciplinary lens. We explore the delicate tension between the visible and the invisible, the conscious and the subconscious, through the act of creation. This space functions as a Living Archive; the practice itself behaves as architecture.

Our work operates as a bridge between outer geography and inner territory. Drawing on a personal and intimate corpus of over 15 years of research, we explore the links between body, mind, and space. Through micro-editions, art prints, and workshops, we share and document the creative process itself—transforming raw observation into tangible artifacts. These productions are tools for consciousness, practices of listening, gestures of care, inviting you to engage in the (de)construction of (y)our own personal and collective narratives.

Our methodology / WORDS . IMAGES . GESTURE

Our inquiry navigates a diverse production of words and images, ranging from photography and drawing to handmade and digital collage. Each piece has been produced from a process not for an outcome and serves as a specific data point in time, investigating intuitively the liminal line between the seen and the unseen, the body and space, systemic structures, and the interplay of personal and collective memory. This approach opens a door to investigate the practice and production of ourselves as architectural beings and architecture itself—questioning their referentials, production, and working processes in the contemporary world.

preface.archi is the original research-practice space from Fanny Wattier in current collaboration with Joao Figueiredo.

She is an architect, mindfulness facilitator, artist and researcher crossing art, meditation and architecture field.
She worked through different places, structures & fields to build her own at its crossroads. She bonds practices. She builds something new. She is A preface founder in 2025 from a research-practice of 15 years + long.

He is a communication designer and illustrator buidling a longterm artistic practice through collage making both hand-made and digital.
A preface.archi collaborator since 2026 in support of editing the archives files into print. His own work is on view through J.PDF

She is from Belgium. He is from Brazil.
Together they are currently exploring the intersectionnality of their practices for creating a common line of work through building creative space into books.

This is an independant space of research.
